Farewell Dr. Mohsen Hooshyar

January 01, 2020

Dr. Hooshyar has recently left and is working as a Postdoctoral Researcher with Dr. Diallo at the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute working on oncolytic viruses. He is also working on a Mitacs Fellowship with Turnstone Biologics.

Imelda Galvan-Marquex (Ph.D.)

Imelda successfully defended her PhD thesis on using chemical genomics to investigate the mechanism of action of bioactive compounds. Imelda is the hardest working woman you will find and somehow manages to do great research and be a great mom.  You can currently find her working as a policy and program analyst at the Canadian Food Inspection Agency

Bahram Samanfar (Ph.D)

Dr. Samanfar defended his thesis entitled "Large scale investigation in yeast to identify novel genes involved in translation pathway". Most of the time you can find Bahram BBQing, cracking jokes, and stirring up trouble.  Bahram is currently working as a Research Scientist at Agriculture and Agrifoods Canada focussing on soybean genomics.

Kristina Shostak (M.Sc)

Kristina completed her M.Sc. by screening the entire yeast deletion collection for novel genes involved in translation fidelity. You can currently find her completing her PhD at Agriculture Canada.
